IPv6: Obtaining IP Addresses

Before you can use IPv6 you'll need some addresses which are known about on the IPv6 network. This document describes the new 6in4 address allocation procedures which can be used by anyone with an existing IPv4 address to get connected.

IPv6: A running Linux host

What will (or should!) you system look like once IPv6 is working. Some examples of the network interfaces and routing is given so that you'll know what it's meant to look like if it's going to work!

IPv6: Firewalling

Your existing IPv4 firewall won't do once you add IPv6 addresses to your network. The tunneled IPv6 packets will need to be let through your existing IPv4 firewall and you'll need a totally new firewall for those IPv6 packets.

IPv6: Configuration for Redhat

Getting 6in4 address up and running on a RedHat system is pretty simple. A few changes to some existing system configuration files and you'll be IPv6ing in no time at all.

IPv6: Configuration for Debian

Some one else is going to show how much easier this is in debian than it is in RedHat ;)

IPv6: Configuration Windows 2000/XP

We aim to please everyone!

IPv6: Configuration for CISCO IOS

CISCO router configuration. Just some notes for now as we don't have the required IOS versions for IPv6 just yet.

IPv6: Local LAN configuration

So you have a single machine running IPv6. Now lets extend that to the rest of the LAN so that all the machines go IPv6ing.

IPv6: Applications and tools

Now we need to get some applications talking IPv6. What currently supports IPv6 and what do you have to do to make then IPv6 aware?

IPv6: IPv6 and DNS

How do you get DNS and IPv6 to play nice together?
